Woodward Leadership Academy (WLA) is a innovative public elementary school that will serve students in grades K-6. The school will provide families with before and after school care and a highly qualified education at no cost WLA will serve a need in our community for parents who desire that their young children continue to learn in a small environment where staff and community know students by name and are well versed in their skills and abilities.
At Woodward Leadership Academy, we seek to empower students to develop a passion for lifelong learning and to nurture them by engaging their intellect, emotions, and natural curiosity. We seek to instill not only the knowledge, skills and abilities set forward in the California State Standards, but to develop student competence and motivation to use their education responsibly enriching their own lives and the lives of those in their communities. Our school-wide programs focus on developing student competence as learners and their confidence as contributing members of a larger community.
Woodward Leadership Academy (WLA) will host a Highly Qualified Staff, professionals dedicated to the success of the students. The team at WLA is currently developing and fine tuning the programs and establishing how all elements fit together to provide a valuable and comprehensive educational experience for your children
Students attending Woodward Leadership Academy will have the opportunities to work with their teachers to develop skills and concepts across curricular areas by engaging their intellect, emotions, and natural curiosity through their daily work.
Woodward Leadership Academy invites parents and community members to get actively involved in the continuous improvement of programs and educational opportunities for our students; ideas, input and volunteer help are welcome.
This will be Woodward Leadership Academy’s first year I invite you to make it a memorable year. I am thrilled at the opportunity to get to know all of you and engage in the educational process together. The elementary school years are critical times of development for students and families alike, and I look forward to working with all of you to make this year successful. I am a lifelong educator who brings a firm commitment to students and families as well as a love of learning and problem solving. I have taught at the elementary, middle school levels. I look forward to building lasting relationships with each and every member of the WLA community.
